Celebrating New Beginnings – Thank You for Joining Us at Elea’s Inauguration
26 June 2025 – Last week, Elea officially celebrated the inauguration of it’s new building, marking a major milestone in the company’s journey. Over the course of a two-day event, guests from industry, science, and politics were welcomed to explore the new facilities and experience Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology firsthand.
A Festive Kickoff: Day 1 of the Inauguration
On 18 June, we welcomed around 130 guests to celebrate the official inauguration of our new building. The event brought together partners from various sectors to mark this significant milestone in an inspiring and festive atmosphere.
Among the honored guests were:
Michael Bürgel, Mayor of the Artland Municipal Association
Lutz Brinkmann, Member of the German Bundestag
Peter Vahrenkamp, Managing Director of WIGOS and representative of District Administrator Anna Kebschull
Prof. Dr. Henry Jäger, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna
Dr. Reinhold Kassing, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DIL e. V.
Elea Group founders and shareholders Dr. Volker Heinz and Prof. Dr. Stefan Töpfl
After a series of speeches, guests were invited on guided tours through the new facility, offering a closer look at Elea’s modern offices, laboratories, and innovation spaces. The evening concluded with a relaxed dinner, creating a warm atmosphere for conversation, and networking.
Day Two: Discover PEF – Innovation in Action
The second day of the event, held on 19 June, was all about the technology itself. Under the theme “Discover PEF,” attendees were given a closer look at how Elea continues to shape the future of food processing.
After a welcome by CEO Prof. Dr. Stefan Töpfl, guests experienced live demonstrations, including the innovative PiCon project, which uses AI-based acoustic signals for quality control. After a networking lunch, the afternoon continued with the PEF R&D and User Panel, bringing together voices from both industry and research. Panelists included:
Alica Lammerskitten, Co-CEO of Frudist
Prof. Dr. Roman Buckow, Professor at La Trobe University, Melbourne
Sveva Cesari, Food Technologist at Elea Technology
and two video messages from Zeyad El Hariry and Prof. Michael Sandmann
Together, they offered valuable insights into the real-world applications and benefits of PEF – from improving product quality to enhancing efficiency and sustainability in food processing. The discussion highlighted how PEF is already making a tangible impact, and how Elea continues to support both small-scale and industrial producers on their journeys.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this milestone so special!
The New Home of PEF
Elea’s new building is located just a few hundred meters from the previous location in Quakenbrück, Germany. Designed with state-of-the-art facilities, it features modern offices, expanded laboratories, and dedicated spaces for research, development, and customer collaboration. Although the company has moved to its own new premises, Elea will continue to work closely with the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL), maintaining the strong collaborative ties that have supported innovation from the very beginning. With this new environment, Elea is set to accelerate innovation and drive Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology to the next level.
