40 Years of DIL: Bringing Together Science, Industry and Innovation
26. May 2026 - Last week, representatives from industry, research, and politics gathered to celebrate a significant milestone: the 40th anniversary of the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL). The event highlighted four decades of innovation, collaboration, and technological progress in the food industry while providing a platform to exchange ideas on future developments. As a long-standing partner of DIL, ELEA was proud to be part of the celebration and to present its latest developments in Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology.
Four Decades of Innovation in Food Technology
The anniversary event brought together leading representatives from politics, academia, and industry to reflect on DIL's achievements over the past 40 years. Guests were welcomed by a range of distinguished speakers, including Michael Bürgel, Mayor of Samtgemeinde Artland, Anna Kebschull, District Administrator of Landkreis Osnabrück and Deputy Chair of the Metropolitan Region Bremen-Oldenburg, and Olaf Lies, Minister-President of Lower Saxony.
During the event, ELEA had the opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of PEF technology with its PEF Pilot Dual system. Visitors gained insights into the potential of Pulsed Electric Field technology and its applications across various food processing sectors.
ELEA also presented the PiCon project, an innovative research initiative focused on intelligent PEF process monitoring. DIL is one of the project's valued partners, contributing its expertise to the development of new approaches for PEF quality control.
We are very grateful for the strong collaboration with DIL and look forward to continuing to develop successful projects together.
