Empowering Future Experts: Student Visit from Hochschule Hannover

03. December 2025 - New day, new student visit! Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from Hochschule Hannover, accompanied by Professor Britta Rademacher.

Exploring Innovation at Elea and DIL

The students are enrolled in the Master’s degree program "Dairy and Packaging Industry (MMV)" and recently attended a dedicated class on emerging food processing technologies.

Visiting ELEA first and DIL Deutsches Institut für Lebensmitteltechnik e. V. afterwards gave them a great opportunity to deepen their understanding and experience firsthand the potential of Pulsed Electric Fields (PEF) and other innovative technologies.

After a short introduction and an overview of PEF applications, together with our Food Technologist Matteo Stefanelli, the students carried out hands-on experiments to explore the effects of PEF on plant tissues. They observed improvements in tissue softening and extraction efficiency through trials on potatoes, red beets, and oranges.
