New Day, New PiCon Trial: Advancing AI‑Driven Quality Control
27. January 2026 - Last week, we were running another series of tests in our Pilot Hall as we take the next step forward in advancing PiCon. To ensure PiCon performs reliably under real production conditions, it’s essential that its AI is trained with a wide range of product varieties. Each trial brings us closer to a smarter, more robust, and more accurate inline quality control solution.
Inside the Pilot Hall: From Washing to AI Analysis
During the trials, potatoes were washed, peeled, and then PEF-treated. Afterwards, the treated potatoes were sliced using a slicer equipped with a microphone and a vibration sensor. The recorded data will then be analysed using AI to evaluate the treatment results.
Why PiCon Makes a Difference
PiCon is an AI‑driven inline quality control and process optimisation tool designed to enhance the efficiency and consistency of Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) treatment in potato and vegetable processing.
Until now, evaluating PEF treatment efficacy has mostly relied on sampling-based methods, which makes real-time, predictive process control difficult. PiCon changes this, providing continuous, real-time insights!
Stay tuned - more updates will follow soon!
