Showcasing PEF Research on Plant-Based Milk Alternatives in Stockholm
30. April 2026 - Elea recently participated in the 19th European Workshop on Food Engineering and Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. Represented by Strategic & Research Coordination Manager Claudia Siemer and PhD student Arisa Thamsuaidee, the company joined researchers, industry experts, and young scientists from across Europe to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest developments in food engineering and technology. As one of the event sponsors, Elea was proud to support this important platform for scientific collaboration.
A Platform for Scientific Exchange and Professional Development
Organized by the Section on Food of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) and hosted by Alfa Laval at its Innovation Centre, the workshop provided PhD students and recent graduates with the opportunity to present their research, and expand their professional networks.
As part of the scientific program, Arisa Thamsuaidee presented her PhD research on the influence of Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology on the microbiological and physicochemical properties of plant-based milk alternatives. Arisa was supported by her supervisors, Claudia Siemer and Vasilis Valdramidis from the NKUA Laboratory of Food Chemistry, who was present in person as well.
Strengthening Collaboration Across the Food Engineering Community
Overall, the event was a great success, featuring a wide range of interesting topics across food technology and engineering and providing an excellent opportunity for exchange and collaboration.
